1,000 Miles in Mexico

0 0

A country full of wonders! Located in the southeastern part of Mexico, separating the Caribbean Sea from the Gulf of Mexico, you are greeted with a whirlwind of culture, good weather, and smiles. Within the Yucatan Peninsula, there is plenty to see…. if you decide to venture outside of your hotel zones. Follow along and you will learn about the wonderful adventures I had 1,000 Miles in Mexico.

I was lucky enough to spend a whole month traveling 1,000 miles in Mexico exploring everything I possibly could. From well-known places like Cancun and Tulum to lesser-known cities like Bacalar and Valladolid. It’s great to be able to experience all the different sides of the peninsula. If you ever decide to visit, I highly recommend wandering out a bit and getting to see the local life.

Getting Around Mexico

Renting a car is very useful if you want to see most of the peninsula. They also have a really reliable public bus system called ADO that will take you anywhere you want to go, and getting a taxi is relatively cheap. In my opinion, renting a car makes it a lot easier to carry around your luggage (if you are a heavy packer like myself) and you can follow your own time schedule. At the airport, they have different rental companies you can choose from with competitive prices. You will most likely be able to haggle. Just be careful not to get lost with a good price without fully reading the contract!

We almost rented a car that sounded too perfect. That was only because they didn’t tell us about the insurance, which ended up being twice the price of the rental! We ended up not taking that one and finding a more reasonably priced one at Hertz. Once you have your transportation situated out, the road is open and it’s yours for the taking!

1,000 Miles in Mexico

Mexico surprised me in many ways and I can’t wait to share my experiences with you. From the great foods I’ve tried to the beautiful cenotes and funny stories and people, I’ve met along the way. Hopefully, it’ll inspire you to take that flight and see it for yourself. Follow my journey and travel 1,000 miles in Mexico with me!
